The NFL’s offseason is about to get into full swing, which means certain players are about to secure a huge bag.
Normally, the players who get the biggest bags are quarterbacks and wide receivers, and some feel certain positions are underpaid.
The biggest such position seems to be running back, as a number of stars looked for lucrative new contracts over the summer but didn’t get what they were looking for.
But Ross Tucker noted that there is another position that is definitely underpaid — the tight end position.

Tight ends aren’t quite as heralded as wide receivers, but the good ones are very critical to the success of their teams.
Travis Kelce of the Kansas City Chiefs is generally considered the best tight end in the NFL right now, but men such as George Kittle, T.J. Hockenson, Sam LaPorta, and Mark Andrews aren’t far behind.
There won’t be that many viable tight ends available on the free-agent market this year, but Dalton Schultz and Noah Fant could be decent options.
This week, the announcement came that the league’s salary cap for 2024 will be rising by a higher amount than expected, which will help a number of teams come to terms with prospective free agents and pay them what they’re worth.
But the league’s salary cap is always hard to navigate, as it is more restrictive than the NBA’s salary cap, so teams will still have to go through extensive mathematical gymnastics in order to field a competitive team this fall.
