The Boston Celtics have been cruising along during the 2023-24 NBA season as they own the best record in the league and are the presumptive favorites to come out of the Eastern Conference.

The Celtics have arguably the best starting five in Derrick White, Jrue Holiday, Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown, and Kristaps Porzingis as the group is great on both ends of the floor.

Tatum isn’t getting much buzz as an MVP candidate, but should be on ballots as the best player on the best team in the NBA.

Tatum has always been a great scorer, but he’s also improved as a playmaker and defender.

The star forward was named an All-Star for the fifth season in a row and will represent Boston in Indianapolis this weekend.

During his media availability, Tatum was asked what rule he would change and he picked one regarding technical fouls via Jerry Donatien of ClutchPoints.

“If you get a tech for overreacting to a call that was deemed incorrect, you should get your money back,” Tatum said.

Technical fouls are usually subject to the discretion of officials, and this season has featured several questionable calls.

Players will always have reactions to calls that they deem incorrect, but the league has arguably swung too far into disciplining them and coaches for emotional outbursts.

Players are forced to pay a fine every time they’re called for a technical and while it’s almost a negligible amount for superstars like Tatum, he does make a valid point that money should be returned for any technical that is rescinded.
