The New York Knicks were a struggling franchise when they signed Jalen Brunson.

It wasn’t that he hadn’t earned a big contract, it was much money the Knicks paid him.

He embraced that and used it as motivation to prove everybody wrong, and now his deal looks like a bargain.

It didn’t take long before Brunson became a fan favorite in the Big Apple.

He’s been the point guard they have been craving for years, and the fans have gone on a never-ending crusade to let everybody know how he’s still underrated.

With that in mind, the Villanova product made sure to give the fans their flowers.

Talking during the All-Star Weekend, the point guard raved about the fans and how much love they’ve shown him since he arrived in Madison Square Garden (via ClutchPoints).

“When I’m walking down the street in New York City and I see a fan just say, ‘Yo what’s up’ and keep it moving… I think that’s the coolest thing ever, man,” Brunson said.

The Knicks haven’t exactly been a successful franchise for the past five decades, but they continue to have one of the strongest, biggest, most loyal fan bases on Earth.

The Knicks are currently fourth in the Eastern Conference.

They’re eleven games over .500 and are only 1.5 games behind the third-placed Milwaukee Bucks, and they could be a legitimate threat in the playoffs if Brunson continues to play at an All-NBA level.
