The Kansas City Chiefs have the best quarterback in the game, perhaps the greatest tight end of all time, and one of most offensively impactful head coaches this game has ever seen.

Despite all that, the key to winning Super Bowl LVIII might come from the other side of the field.

The Chiefs’ defense has been lights out throughout the course of the entire season.

Notably, a lot of that has had to do with Chris Jones, one of the most dominant defensive forces the game has seen in the past two decades.

Needless to say, an athlete of Jones’ caliber must have some outstanding preparation ahead of every game.

However, Jones, in particular, has a bit of an unorthodox routine.

According to NFL insider James Palmer, Jones doesn’t eat a single thing on game days, and he doesn’t like to do anything but play Call of Duty when he has some free time at the team hotel.

Jones clearly doesn’t like to be disturbed or distracted.

Playing while fasting might be too much for a lot of athletes, especially one built like Jones, but it has clearly worked out perfectly for him.

He’s about to play in one of the biggest games of his career, so he must make sure not to alter his pre-game routine at all.

He needs to be locked in.

There will be more than enough time to eat and replenish energies after he gets the job done.
