After weeks of waiting, Super Bowl LVIII featuring the Kansas City Chiefs and San Francisco 49ers is finally kicking off this weekend.

The Chiefs and 49ers meet for the second time in four years, with the former coming from behind to win Super Bowl LIV.

Kansas City heads into the game as betting underdogs, though at this point it’s hard to bet against Patrick Mahomes as he has proven he can elevate his level of play when the lights are at their brightest.

Mahomes can cement his legacy with a third Super Bowl ring and he’s previously talked about how motivated he is to accomplish that.

The superstar quarterback faced more adversity than usual during the 2023 NFL season, but now there’s only one more game left for him to go win.

According to Jeff Darlington of ESPN, Mahomes has seemingly been more focused than usual during practice this week.

“All I keep hearing… Mahomes looks even more dialed in than usual this week. If he plays like he practiced…,” Darlington reported.

It’s understandable that Mahomes is operating with more urgency at this time of the year given what’s at stake.

Although the Chiefs have beaten the 49ers in the Super Bowl before, they aren’t the same team as they’re playing well on both ends of the field.

Kansas City also isn’t the same group this time around because they’ve leaned more on their defense to win them games instead of the offense.

However, the game will be decided by how well Mahomes plays and Chiefs fans are hoping for another dominant performance.
