The Charlotte Hornets entered the NBA season with high hopes and expectations.

Brandon Miller has gone through some growing pains, and LaMelo Ball has once again failed to stay healthy, taking a big toll on their chances to compete.

So, now that they’ve already parted ways with Terry Rozier, it seems like they could be in the mix for some other trades.

According to a report by Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN (via Evan Sidery), the Hornets could look to offload veteran forwards PJ Washington and Miles Bridges, with Woj stating that it was very likely that both would end up somewhere else by the trade deadline.

Bridges’ situation isn’t much of a surprise, as he was expected to leave the team in free agency last season before a domestic assault case pretty much forced his hand to stay in Charlotte.

The team drew plenty of backlash for their decision to bring him back despite the case against him, and he’s been a trade candidate all year long.

As for Washington, he’s a versatile forward and small-ball center who could help teams in need of frontcourt depth, as he can either start or come off the bench, be a bruiser in the paint, or even spread the floor with his shooting.

Both players are young and have some upside, and multiple contenders could and should be in the mix for them.

Then again, giving up on them could also set this team even further back, and it’ll be interesting to see how they deal with LaMelo Ball’s contract in the future.
