“Really? Why in the world would anyone in DeSantis’s position take a shot at a rival whose support might be helpful to him down the road? It would have been easy to say: ‘She’s a fighter. She won’t win. But she’ll go down fighting.’ That would have covered the bases; non-offensive to Trump, complimentary of Haley. The fact that he couldn’t bring himself to say it said a lot.”
