The San Antonio Spurs have the most unique prospect in NBA history on their hands, so they need to make sure to keep him safe and sound.
There were always big questions and concerns about Victor Wembanyama’s health, yet the No. 1 pick has been available for most games this season.
Nonetheless, that also raised doubts about whether he was going to partake in this year’s All-Star Weekend events, as he was a lock to be selected to the Rising Stars game and maybe even some other competitions.
Fortunately, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports that the seven-footer has committed to partaking in the festivities.

Wembanyama’s feel for the game was also one of the biggest reasons to be so high on him.
He was a lock to be the No. 1 pick in the NBA Draft for months, yet he continued to play in France.
Most prospects would’ve shut themselves down for the season to stay healthy, but that wasn’t his decision.
He kept pushing and led his team all the way to the final, putting his body on the line and not taking anything for granted.
Wembanyama has been as good as advertised during his rookie season, posting video game-like numbers and already becoming one of the most impactful defenders in the game.
Unfortunately, that hasn’t translated into team success, as the Spurs have been one of the worst teams in the league this season.
Then again, the future seems quite bright for the French star, and it’ll be interesting to see what he has saved for us for All-Star Weekend.
