The Dallas Cowboys seem like they should be firmly in the Super Bowl contender conversation, but it’s hard to trust them after another loss to a winning team.
The Cowboys narrowly lost to the Miami Dolphins in Week 16, a tough one for a squad still searching for a win against a team over .500.
Dallas’ offense stalled out in the first half before Dak Prescott was finally able to catch a rhythm in the second half in their near-comeback.
The Cowboys still have plenty to play for regarding postseason seeding, and they have another huge game on Saturday against the Detroit Lions who won the NFC North after their win over the Minnesota Vikings.
Like Dallas, Detroit is looking to make some noise in the playoffs given their recent drought.
Chris Broussard is expecting a big day from the Cowboys, especially Dak Prescott via First Things First.
“I think Dak is gonna have a big day,” Broussard said.
Are the Cowboys going to ‘Muscle Up’ against the Lions? 💪

Broussard’s primary argument is that he believes Detroit is still a year or so away from being contenders, while he believes Dallas is ready to show the world that they can win it all.
While Broussard admits that the Cowboys struggle to defend the run, he argues that the Lions have trouble pressuring quarterbacks which should lead to a productive outing for Prescott.
Prescott has been one of the best quarterbacks in the league this season and would be a frontrunner for the MVP had Dallas not lost this past weekend.
Still, he’ll need to be on his A-game this weekend if he wants to lead the Cowboys past a surging Lions squad.
