The Pittsburgh Steelers under head coach Mike Tomlin have always found a way to win games despite difficult circumstances, and that’s been the case during the 2023 NFL season.

Despite injuries to multiple key pieces, the Steelers found ways to grind out wins though their playoff hopes are currently in jeopardy as they sit at 7-7 and on the postseason bubble.

Pittsburgh has a crucial game against the Cincinnati Bengals that they need to win to keep their odds alive, though it’ll be an uphill battle as they’re starting Mason Rudolph at center for the first time this season.

Tomlin has been able to work his magic in almost every scenario possible, but a pivotal AFC North game with a backup quarterback would be daunting for anyone.

If the Steelers were to miss the postseason, some might consider Tomlin’s job in danger.

However, the organization knows what it has in Tomlin and has no plans to remove him as head coach via ProFootballTalk.

In the video, Mike Florio reveals that the team remains high on Tomlin and even wants to extend his contract once the season is over.

In addition, Tomlin is already involved in roster planning for the 2024 NFL campaign, another key point in his favor.

Tomlin hasn’t been shy about calling for change in recent weeks, and with him set to return to the sidelines he’ll definitely have input on the type of players he’d like to see on the roster next year.

Good head coaching is hard to come by in the NFL and Tomlin is one of the few coaches who deserves to stay long-term.
