Analyst Says Dak Prescott’s MVP Candidacy Likely Ended After Sunday Performance

Coming into Week 15’s matchup with the Buffalo Bills on the road at Highmark Stadium, the Dallas Cowboys knew they were in for a tough test against a hungry and resurgent team led by superstar quarterback Josh Allen.

It was the ideal situation for star quarterback Dak Prescott to put his stamp on the NFL MVP conversation in the league, as he could’ve made a statement with an impressive performance against a good Bills defense while on the road.

Unfortunately for Prescott, the performance against the Bills was less than stellar; it was arguably his worst of the season, as he couldn’t do anything after perennial All-Pro guard Zach Martin went down with an injury.

With Prescott throwing for only 134 yards, zero touchdowns, and an interception, some believe he has played his way out of the MVP conversation, including Emmanuel Acho of FOX Sports.

It doesn’t help Prescott that Brock Purdy of the San Francisco 49ers had another MVP-caliber performance on Sunday, as he made easy work of the Arizona Cardinals, who beat the Cowboys earlier in the season.

Purdy had a flawless performance, throwing four touchdowns in the blowout against the Cardinals, in which the 49ers clinched the NFC West division title and punched their ticket to the NFL playoffs.

Unless Prescott has a few unbelievable performances in the final three games of the regular season, it’s safe to say the voters might be looking elsewhere when it comes time to decide who this year’s most valuable player was.
