The Kansas City Chiefs headed into Week 15 with a bit of a chip on their shoulder.

They’ve lost their past two games – one of which was in a controversial fashion – and haven’t played as well this season as in years past.

Tight end Travis Kelce showed up for Week 15 against the New England Patriots on the road rocking an all-black outfit – similar to the one quarterback Patrick Mahomes wore.

The look drew the eye of fans of his girlfriend, Taylor Swift, who noted the importance of playing well at Gillette Stadium where Swift has performed.

The Chiefs have been in the news more than ever – and not just for defending their Super Bowl ring.

Kelce’s connection to Swift has seen his and the team’s popularity skyrocket this season.

But that attention hasn’t equated to more wins and more scoring.

Kansas City ranks 11th in scoring offense and their 8-5 record is only good enough for the fourth seed in the AFC.

Kelce is having a solid season with 80 receptions for 896 yards and five receiving touchdowns this season, but he hasn’t been nearly as effective this season.

With the Chiefs riding a two-game losing streak, it makes sense that the team’s top players would be a bit stoic in their approach to a game against one of the worst teams in the NFL.

A win in Week 15 would be huge in the Chiefs’ ability to increase their divisional lead over the Denver Broncos as well as make a push for a better seed in the playoffs.
