The 2023 NFL Season has not been kind to Derek Carr.
Carr’s first year with the New Orleans Saints has not gone according to plan, as the team currently has a 6-7 record.
While they are still tied for the top spot in the NFC South, the Saints would like some breathing room moving forward.
One of the biggest reasons they have their current record is Carr’s injury tendencies during the season.
He seemingly hasn’t been healthy for several weeks and tends to get banged up every week.
This, combined with his on-field play, has caused Carr to get booed regularly.
While this might cause some players distress, Carr is using his boos for good.
As he mentioned in a video shared via the NOF Network, he used his personal experience to help his son with homework.

Carr believes the negativity around him will only make him stronger for the rest of the season.
He also mentioned that, while spirits might be low at the moment, “We got to give them stuff to get excited about.”
While Carr was primarily optimistic, he recognized where the team is at.
If they keep losing games, morale will continue to plummet within the locker room,
He is putting it upon himself to help his teammates do well throughout the rest of the season, which begins with him and his on-field performances.
Carr was brought to the Saints from the Las Vegas Raiders for a reason.
As a long-time NFL veteran, he knows what it takes to be a winning football team, something he keeps trying to instill in his new teammates.
