Rangers’ Jacob Trouba fined $5K for high-sticking Bruins’ Frederic

New York Rangers defenceman Jacob Trouba has been fined $5,000 for high-sticking Boston Bruins forward Trent Frederic in Saturday’s game, the NHL’s department of player safety announced.

The incident occurred late in the second period when Trouba and Frederic got tangled up after the whistle. Trouba swung his stick in Frederic’s direction and caught the Bruins forward on the side of his helmet.

Never shy to try to deliver a big hit, Trouba has been known to toe the line with his physical style of play.

The Rangers captain has one goal and seven assists in 19 games this season.
