The 2023 NFL season marks the first time in over 20 years that the league doesn’t feature a Tom Brady-led team.

Brady retired for a second time over the offseason and this time it seems like he’s actually done playing in the NFL.

The future Hall of Famer last suited up for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and even though there were rumors of him making a second comeback, Brady ultimately decided to stay put and enjoy retirement.

However, he hasn’t been completely away from the game as he’s currently in ongoing talks to buy a stake in the Las Vegas Raiders and act as a minority owner.

It would be impossible for someone like Brady to completely walk away from football considering what he’s managed to accomplish, though he did have some strong words about the current landscape of the league.

Brady said that the NFL features a lot of mediocrity and Rich Eisen couldn’t help but agree with the legend, via “The Rich Eisen Show.”

Brady came out and said that he feels like the players, coaches, and schemes aren’t as good as they used to be and Eisen says he 100 percent agrees with his assessment.

Eisen also touches on the topic of player development which has become more of an afterthought for team owners and college programs.

It was surprising to hear someone like Brady be so blunt about today’s NFL, but someone needed to say it in order for the media and fans to pay attention.

Although the games are still exciting, the quality of play has certainly taken a hit in recent years.
