The Chicago Bulls have a tough situation on their hands right now.

Once again, there has been a lot of talk about Zach LaVine and whether he’s going to be traded, and his latest statements — or lack thereof — haven’t done much to solve that situation.

LaVine is represented by Rich Paul and Klutch Sports, and given his ties to Los Angeles from his days at UCLA, he’s always been tied to a move to the Los Angeles Lakers.

Add the Lakers’ recent struggles to the mix, and you can tell why the speculation continues to grow.

With that in mind, NBA insider Shams Charania revealed that the Lakers could indeed look to make a run at LaVine (via Run It Back).

Nevertheless, they would have to wait until mid-December before trying to even engage in trade talks, as they need all the guys they re-signed in the offseason — namely D’Angelo Russell, Rui Hachimura, and Austin Reaves — to become trade eligible.

Charania explained that the Lakers are unlikely to make any moves before that and that they will continue to assess their current roster for the next month or so.

Also, they only have one first-round pick to trade, and they might not want to trade it for LaVine.

On top of that, the Lakers would have to give up a lot of depth to match LaVine’s salary, and that’s even assuming that the Bulls are interested in whatever they could have to offer, which might not be the case.
