On Thursday night, Giannis Antetokounmpo of the Milwaukee Bucks was playing basketball like he had something to prove.
He left it all on the court and set the scoreboard on fire with 54 points and 12 rebounds.
On “Undisputed” Friday morning, Michael Irvin praised Antetokounmpo and said that he had a “football mentality.”
“Giannis is a football player playing basketball. I love his mentality,” he said.

Irvin claimed that Antetokounmpo was so fired up on Thursday night because of what happened only a day before.
On Wednesday, he was ejected from a game against the Detroit Pistons after receiving two technical fouls.
Irving stated that the two-time MVP carried his anger over from that ejection and into the next game.
He said that basketball players don’t often do that.
Irving feels that Antetokounmpo has crafted a very special brand of basketball and isn’t changing how he plays, no matter what the rest of the league does.
He is certainly a star unlike any other.
Unfortunately, Antetokounmpo’s football mentality and fiery point total weren’t enough to overcome the Indiana Pacers on Thursday.
They ended up losing by just two points and now have a 5-3 record.
Antetokounmpo’s output was remarkable but it’s troubling that the team wasn’t able to win even with his 54 points.
Of course, it could have been a different story if Damian Lillard played but he was out due to calf soreness.
Before the season began, Antetokounmpo repeatedly made it clear that this mind was set on going all the way to the NBA Finals this year.
Thursday’s performance was an example of him backing up his words with some very impressive action.
