Giants Are Placing 2 Offensive Players On IR

The New York Giants are spiraling downward during the 2023 NFL season as health and inconsistent offensive showings have drained any chances of them making the postseason.

The Giants came into the year with the hope of building off last season’s Wild Card appearance, but it’s been a complete disaster as the team has struggled to generate any sort of momentum.

At 2-6, New York seems destined for a high draft pick in the 2024 NFL Draft though that’s not necessarily a bad thing considering the state of the franchise.

For their Week 9 matchup against the Las Vegas Raiders, the Giants could very well pick up a win especially considering Daniel Jones is slated to return from a neck injury.

While Jones was out, Tyrod Taylor stepped in as the starter though he was hurt last week and subsequently ruled out for Week 9.

Things got worse for New York’s offense as both Darren Waller and Taylor were placed on injured reserve via Field Yates of ESPN.

Taylor is dealing with a rib cage injury, while Waller aggravated his hamstring against the New York Jets last week and was ruled out immediately.

Losing Waller is the biggest blow for New York as he was supposed to be the centerpiece of their passing game, but he’ll now be forced to miss at least the next four games.

The veteran tight end has struggled to stay healthy the past few seasons, and there’s a decent chance that he’ll be held out for the remainder of the season if the Giants continue to lose games.
