It took him a while, but young Seattle Seahawks wideout Jaxon Smith-Njigba is finally proving why he was one of the highest-ranked WR prospects in this year’s class.

He led his team with four receptions, 64 yards, and his first career touchdown in Week 7 against the Arizona Cardinals.

Then, he kept his foot on the gas by scoring the game-winning touchdown to get a late-game lead over the Cleveland Browns.

It’s evident that both QB Geno Smith and HC Pete Carroll are trusting him more as every week goes by.

When asked about what it is like to play for coach Carroll, the star rookie told Kay Adams that he’s just a great guy and a “golden ticket,” talking about how he inspires his players with his real-life stories (via Up & Adams).

Against all odds, the Seahawks are currently leading the NFC West division, even ahead of the San Francisco 49ers and their behemoth of a team.

Once again, they’ve exceeded all expectations for the season, going 5-2 thus far.

The Seahawks have flown under the radar more often than not, but they could have one of the most explosive offenses in the game with their plethora of stars at the wide receiver position.

And while Smith-Njigba is still obviously behind DK Metcalf and Tyler Lockett in the pecking order, it shouldn’t take long before he becomes the undisputed alpha dog in that WR room.

Notably, his next chance to do it will come on Sunday in a tough matchup vs. the Baltimore Ravens.
