In Week 7, the San Francisco 49ers suffered their second loss of the 2023 season when they came up short in a matchup against the Minnesota Vikings.
49ers quarterback Brock Purdy began the contest on fire, completing nearly all of his passes, but near the end of the game, his performance appeared to suffer for an unknown reason.
We eventually found out that Purdy suffered a concussion at some point in the second half of the loss to the Vikings, and most assume that played a large role in his play taking a dip in the wrong direction.
Surprisingly, the San Francisco quarterback has already been cleared to play, less than a week after suffering a concussion, and he’ll be in the starting lineup for the team’s Week 8 contest against the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday, according to NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport.

The 49ers haven’t lost three games in a row since the 2021 season, so they will be attempting to prevent that from happening when they take on the Bengals on Sunday.
With Purdy out on the field, San Francisco’s chances of leaving the field with a victory will certainly be much higher than if they were to face Cincinnati without him.
Unfortunately for the 49ers quarterback, he’ll have to play in a game without All-Pro left tackle Trent Williams for the second matchup in a row, as the talented offensive lineman is still dealing with an ankle injury that he suffered in a Week 6 loss to the Cleveland Browns.
So without Williams on the field, will Purdy be able to help San Francisco snap their two-game losing streak on Sunday when they take on the Bengals?
