Israel-Hamas war live updates and latest Gaza death toll: Macron arrives in Israel

Hamas has released two more hostages, two Israeli women in their 70s and 80s, bringing the total number of hostages freed to four. Israeli authorities have said about 200 hostages were captured by Hamas. Israel thanked Egypt and the International Committee of the Red Cross, and The Washington Post has reported that Qatar was also involved in the mediation efforts. The Israel Defense Forces intensified airstrikes on Gaza, saying Tuesday that it hit hundreds of targets in the enclave, including a seaside refugee camp hosting tens of thousands of displaced people. Palestinian authorities said the strike in the Shati refugee camp killed and wounded scores of Palestinians late Monday.
