Former Senators’ AHL coach Troy Mann lands OHL job in Kingston

Former Belleville Senators head coach Troy Mann has been hired by the Kingston Frontenacs of the Ontario Hockey League, the team announced Tuesday.

Mann, who was the longtime head coach Ottawa’s AHL affiliate, was fired in February. He had a 150-117-15-7 record in 289 games behind the bench with Belleville and the dismissal raised eyebrows in the hockey world.

In his time as coach in Belleville, several players graduated from the AHL to the NHL to become key players on Ottawa’s roster, including Drake Batherson, Josh Norris, Erik Brannstrom and, most recently, Ridly Greig.
