The 2023 NFL season has not been kind to the Denver Broncos though they did give their fans something to cheer about as they were able to hold on and beat the Green Bay Packers in Week 7.

The Broncos looked like they were going to cruise to a win, but the Packers mounted a furious comeback in the second half and nearly stole a win.

Denver was trailing 17-16 in the fourth quarter, but Russell Wilson was able to lead a drive that ended in Will Lutz converting on a 52-yard field goal to give them a 19-17 win.

Defensively, the Broncos came up big on the Packer’s final drive of the game as they came up with an interception to seal the victory.

However, the game didn’t come without some drama as safety Kareem Jackson was called for a personal foul for his hit on tight end Luke Musgrave and was subsequently disqualified from the game.

A day later, the NFL decided to hand Jackson a four-game suspension for the hit plus his previous offenses though he is going to appeal the punishment via Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.

Jackson had a similar hit in Week 2 against the Washington Commanders and was also disqualified from that game.

Player safety has been a hot topic in the league for several years now, and Jackson definitely deserves to miss games without pay for his actions on the field.

The veteran will be forced to miss games against the Kansas City Chiefs, Buffalo Bills, Minnesota Vikings, and Cleveland Browns and those could very well end up being all losses for Denver who is already at the bottom of the AFC West standings.
