Report: Raiders won’t trade Davante Adams before deadline

The Las Vegas Raiders have told teams around the NFL that they do not intend on trading Davante Adams before the Oct. 31 deadline, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports.

The star receiver has been unhappy with how the Raiders’ season has been going, especially with his role in the offence. Adams has seen his targets decrease over the last couple of weeks registering six catches for 74 yards over two weeks.

“I’m a human being and I have extremely high standards for myself in this offence,” Adams told reporters this week. “I’m sure people are thinking, ‘They won the game, why is there an issue?’ I mean, you see why it’s an issue. Y’all should know who I am, know what I’m about at this point … when you’re a player like me, mentally, my benchmark is not wins and losses — it’s greatness. So when I go out there, I expect to be able to have that ability to put that on tape and have an influence on the game. That’s my purpose for being here. I’m not here just to hang out; I came here to win and to do it the right way.”

Teams have reportedly called the Raiders about Adams’ availability but have not been able to convince Las Vegas to make a deal.

Adams was acquired by the Raiders from the Green Bay Packers in 2022 and agreed to a five-year deal with the team.

In six games this season, the 30-year-old has 39 catches for 471 yards and three touchdowns with his best game coming in Week 3 against the Pittsburgh Steelers where he had 13 receptions on 20 targets for 172 yards and two touchdowns.
