Cowboys WR Discusses Dak Prescott’s Mentality After Tough Loss

When this season started, expectations were high for the Dallas Cowboys, as many people, including the Cowboys themselves, said they would have a historically great defense.

But they have lost two of their last three games, which included a 42-10 humiliation on Sunday at the hands of the undefeated San Francisco 49ers.

Quarterback Dak Prescott had what some have described as the worst game of his career, as he completed 14 of 24 passes and threw three interceptions.

Some have wondered how he and his team will recover mentally and emotionally from such a brutal loss, but wide receiver Brandin Cooks said, per Jon Machota, that the signal-caller will continue to work hard.

Prescott has been regarded as a good QB ever since he entered the NFL in 2016, and he has made two Pro Bowls, including one during his rookie season.

However, the narrative surrounding him now is that he simply doesn’t have what it takes to play well in big games and big situations, and it could very well be that the 49ers are his kryptonite.

In last year’s playoffs, he threw two interceptions when the Cowboys lost to San Francisco in the Divisional round, and the year before that, he went just 23 of 43 and was sacked five times when they fell to the Niners in the Wild Card round.

This Monday, Dallas will face the Los Angeles Chargers, a fairly talented team that has won two games in a row and is coming off its bye week.

Another loss could cause the criticism surrounding the Cowboys and their quarterback to reach even more of a crescendo.
