After an NFL offseason filled with turmoil for the Indianapolis Colts, All-Pro running back Jonathan Taylor has a new three-year contract extension and a promising career ahead of him with the team.

At one point, things got so ugly between Taylor and Colts team owner Jim Irsay that there was no telling what was going to happen, as there seemed to be a war of words between the two sides.

Irsay was livid that Taylor wanted a new deal and then got even angrier after hearing that the star back wanted to be traded and was adamant about wanting out of Indianapolis.

Things were so bad that Taylor looked like he had played his last game for the franchise, and there was no telling when he’d get back on the football field.

Fortunately, cooler heads prevailed as Taylor was able to get what he wanted, and Irsay appears content with the decision to bring him back with the extension, as he took to Twitter on Saturday.

“We have extended Jonathan! He’s a SPECIAL player and this extension is important knowing the impact he’ll make as our team develops under Shane.” Irsay said.

With Taylor back in the fold, he’s expected to play on Sunday when the Colts take on the division-rival Tennessee Titans at home.

The Colts are currently sporting a 2-2 record, but so is every other team in the division, including the Titans, which makes this game an important one for both teams.

Fortunately for Indianapolis, they get to showcase one of the best running attacks in the league now, with Taylor playing alongside Anthony Richardson, who is making a strong case for Offensive Rookie of the Year.
