The Los Angeles Clippers played a crucial role in reviving Russell Westbrook’s NBA career.

Westbrook emerged as a vocal leader for the Clippers during the second half of the 2022-23 season, and many expect the same from the former NBA MVP this season.

Kawhi Leonard recently revealed the great relationship he has with Westbrook via Joey Linn on Twitter.

“Good dude. Good energy. I like him,” Leonard said.

It’s fair to say that Westbrook’s first impression of Los Angeles wasn’t that good.

After all, he was blamed for most of the Lakers’ failures during his time with the team.

However, Westbrook got a fresh start after he joined the Clippers.

In addition, having a great friendship with Kawhi Leonard and Paul George must have made the transition easy for Westbrook.

As Leonard explained, Westbrook always gives off great energy and has the potential to uplift the mood of the entire locker room.

Westbrook averaged 15.8 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 7.6 assists per game for the Clippers last season.

Sure, he only played 21 games for the Clippers in the regular season, but Westbrook showed his true talent during the 2023 playoffs.

In the postseason, the veteran guard recorded 23.6 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 7.6 assists per game.

Unfortunately, due to Kawhi Leonard and Paul George’s absence due to injury, the Clippers were eliminated from the playoffs in the opening round.
