After an impressive and unexpected run to the Western Conference Finals last season, the Los Angeles Lakers headed into the NBA offseason with the goal to keep the roster relatively intact while adding some key pieces to the championship puzzle in NBA free agency.
Unlike in years past when this team would only target superstars or players that would make a substantial splash over the summer, the Lakers front office stuck to its plan and worked it out to perfection.
With the Lakers having arguably one of the deepest rosters in the NBA heading into the regular season, superstars LeBron James and Anthony Davis couldn’t be happier about the franchise’s direction, as this team has a legitimate shot to contend this season.
Ahead of the team’s first preseason game on Saturday against the division-rival Golden State Warriors, head coach Darvin Ham was asked about his two superstars and whether he’s seen anything different from them this year.
“He and Bron both. Our two captains are the most hungry.” Ham said via Khobi Price of the So Cal News Group.

The Lakers feel like things are pointed in the right direction ahead of the 2023-24 campaign, as having their best players as hungry as Ham claims they are is a great sign of things to come.
Although the Lakers are getting a lot of hype as one of the best teams in the Western Conference, it remains to be seen how things will pan out for this storied franchise, as anything can happen with two aging and fragile superstars leading the way.
However, if Davis and James can stay healthy, the rest of the West might be in trouble, as his dynamic duo could be ready to win another title.
