Former NFL star Deion Sanders has been all over the news for quite a while now.
Besides his well-documented health issues, Sanders has earned plenty of praise for the impact he’s made on Jackson State and now Colorado.
It’s easy to root for a former elite athlete who’s now trying to help young players make a name for themselves, and you can see in the clips that he’s actually trying to make them be the best version of themselves, not just in sports but also in life.
The Buffaloes were often overlooked by experts and members of the media, and Sanders called them out every time he won a game he wasn’t supposed to win.
Notably, that didn’t sit well with Oregon HC Dan Lanning, who took a huge shot at him a week before their game, and then doubled down on it by stating that his team was fighting for wins, not clicks.
That’s why NBA legend George Karl took to Twitter to congratulate Sanders for the great job he’s doing despite his team losing 42-6 to Oregon, adding that he doesn’t even remember Oregon’s coach’s name but that everybody will remember Sanders.
I literally can’t remember the name of the Oregon football coach anymore. Back to generally anonymity. Maybe he needs more clicks?

Lanning’s shots at Colorado and Sanders were uncalled for, but they clearly inspired his team to get the job done, so there’s that.
Still, it’s hard to think why anyone should be bothered by the fact that a former superstar is trying to inspire and empower young athletes and give them a platform to be successful in life.
