The Dallas Cowboys have looked like a potential Super Bowl-winning team so far this season with two blowout wins to begin the year.
But those hopes suffered a big blow on Thursday when star cornerback Trevon Diggs went down with a torn ACL that is expected to keep him out for the rest of the season.
Analyst Joy Taylor says that while Diggs’ injury takes Dallas a notch down defensively, they will still be an excellent defensive team and have enough to win the world championship, via “Speak” on FS1.

Diggs has made the Pro Bowl in both of the last two seasons, and in 2021 he led the NFL with 11 interceptions, two of which he ran back for touchdowns.
Luckily, they went out and acquired another star corner during the offseason by the name of Stephon Gilmore, who has made five Pro Bowls and been named to the All-Pro First-Team twice in 11 previous seasons.
So far this year, Dallas ranks first in points allowed, total yards given up, passing yards allowed, and passing touchdowns given up.
Taylor said the Diggs injury will take them back to where they were last season when they still had one outstanding corner and a defense that was fifth in points allowed.
If quarterback Dak Prescott finally plays up to his potential when the chips are down, the Cowboys should still be legitimate contenders for the Vince Lombardi Trophy.
