Over the course of the NBA offseason, one debate has dominated the headlines in the league, with fans, along with current and former players, talking about who is the greatest point guard in league history.

For the past three decades or so, this hasn’t been much of a debate as Magic Johnson has been the consensus greatest point guard to ever play the game, with all his accomplishments while playing for the Los Angeles Lakers.

With superstar guard Stephen Curry of the Golden State Warriors having a lot of success over the course of his career in the league and coming off his fourth NBA title before last season, the debate has gotten interesting, as he’s become a legitimate threat to Johnson in this debate.

Ironically enough, Lakers legend Kareem Abdul-Jabbar recently chimed in on the debate and named Oscar Robertson as the greatest player to ever play the point guard position, but now he’s changed his tune.

Abdul-Jabbar recently took to Instagram to change his pick from Robertson to Johnson via ClutchPoints.

With Curry potentially having quite a few more years of his prime with the Warriors, he could make an even stronger case in the years to come for being the greatest player to ever play the position.

It’ll be interesting to see how this debate changes in the coming years and whether Curry can overtake Johnson in the minds of the majority, which is something that no one thought would happen, considering Johnson’s impact on the game and his incredible resume.
