“Tomas has been a consistent, productive player throughout his NHL career,” MacFarland said. “He is a veteran winger who brings scoring depth to our middle six and can contribute at both ends of the ice. We are excited to have him under contract for this season.”
The 32-year-old scored 20 goals and 48 points while dressing in all 82 games with the New Jersey Devils last season before becoming an unrestricted free agent.
Drafted by the Detroit Red Wings 60th overall in 2009, Tatar also spent three seasons with the Montreal Canadiens from 2018 to 2021, where he played with newly acquired Avalanche forward Jonathan Drouin.
