After a forgettable 2022 NFL season in which the Denver Broncos went all out to bring in superstar quarterback Russell Wilson, the storied franchise decided to bring in someone that they thought would be able to turn the franchise around and get Wilson back to form as an elite quarterback.

The Broncos recently hired Sean Payton to be Nathaniel Hackett’s successor in the Mile High City, hoping he has the right attitude and demeanor to change the culture in Denver.

The storied NFL franchise has gotten so much buzz for the offseason signing of Payton that many feel the team will bounce back in 2023 and make it to the NFL playoffs.

Although some remain skeptical of Payton’s ability to turn things around in Denver, Peter Schrager of FOX Sports is on board with the notion that the new head coach of the Broncos is a game changer and used a crazy analogy to do so, via NFL on FOX Podcast.

Schrager is not wrong that some head coaches can instantly impact new teams and get things back on track, which is something we saw with the New York Giants last season with Brian Daboll running the show.

However, the talent has to be there as well, and Wilson looked like a completely different player last season who was officially out of his prime and ready for a retirement tour.

Wilson will be the X-factor in all of this for Payton because if the one-time Super Bowl champion can get it together, then there’s a chance this team can be successful, but if not, it could be another long and painful year for Denver.
