The Oklahoma City Thunder got a massive talent in return for Paul George.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander continues to break out as one of the most promising young players in the league.

He’s coming off the best season of his young career, and he had a game for the ages in the FIBA Basketball World Cup to lead Canada to a huge statement win over Slovenia.

The young combo guard shined with 31 points on 8-for-12 shooting, adding 10 rebounds, four assists, and going 14-for-16 from the free-throw line.

Needless to say, plenty of fans took to Twitter to shower him with praise after this game.

Shai wasn’t at his best during Canada’s shocking setback vs. Brazil, but he’s picked up the slack ever since.

His ability to dominate on both ends of the floor makes him one of the most promising players in today’s game.

He can run the point as a lead guard or play off the ball at the two, and his size and length allow him to switch and match up with bigger players.

He’s also made great strides as a three-point shooter, and today’s outing was a testament to his aggressiveness as a scorer, constantly driving to the lane and looking to finish through contact.

Canada has reached the semifinals, and while taking home the gold won’t be easy, they have more than enough depth and talent to pull it off.

The Thunder have a blossoming star on their hands, and Sam Presti must love what he’s seeing from his franchise player.
