On Monday, the Indianapolis Colts made it clear that the team is finally content with trading star running back Jonathan Taylor about a month after he had requested the team trade him.

Reportedly, the Colts have given Taylor permission to seek a trade, which could be a tricky proposition right now with a lot of teams being content with their rosters and the current state of the position in the NFL.

This year has been rough on running backs, especially the top-tier running backs that are looking to be compensated while securing their long-term futures in the league.

Taylor is the latest in a long line of disgruntled running backs who wants to get paid what he’s worth, which will be difficult, especially with the start of the season being right around the corner.

Of course, whenever an elite offensive player hits the market, Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones gets asked about the team’s interest and admits the team looks into every opportunity, according to Calvin Watkins of the Dallas Morning News.

Currently, the Cowboys already have a Pro Bowler coming out of the backfield in Tony Pollard, who is coming off a season in which he racked up nearly 1,400 yards from scrimmage and scored 12 total touchdowns.

The Cowboys don’t seem to have a need at the position, as they didn’t jump at the opportunity to bring back Ezekiel Elliott nor took a look at Dalvin Cook.

Dallas trading for Taylor doesn’t make a lot of sense, but anything can happen in Dallas when Jones starts getting an itch for a player.
