The Washington Commanders are hoping to make the playoffs for the first time since the 2020 season and start to establish a winning culture.
The team was recently sold by the controversial Daniel Snyder to a group that is spearheaded by billionaire investor Josh Harris and NBA Hall of Famer Magic Johnson, which is giving fans hope that it will have a clean slate.
The team also has a new offensive coordinator in Eric Bieniemy, who held that role with the Kansas City Chiefs the previous five seasons and won two Super Bowl championships while with them.
Bieniemy is an intense coach, and ESPN analyst Booger McFarland says that his new players should stop complaining about his coaching style, via NFL on ESPN.

In Kansas City, Bieniemy had the Chiefs in the AFC Championship Game in each of his five seasons there, and they finished first in total yards three times and first in points scored twice during that span.
He won’t exactly have the weapons he had there as the new offensive coordinator of the Commanders.
The Commanders have a new and inexperienced quarterback in Sam Howell, who appeared in just one game last season as a rookie and had a grand total of 19 pass attempts and one touchdown pass.
But one advantage Bieniemy will have is wide receiver Terry McLaurin, who had 1,191 receiving yards last year and earned his first Pro Bowl nod in his four NFL seasons.
It is a new era for Washington, and they’re hoping to recapture the glory that came so easily for them when they won three Super Bowls in the 1980s and early-1990s.
