Before LeBron James made his triumphant return to the Cleveland Cavaliers after four seasons and two titles won with the Miami Heat, Kyrie Irving was basically a one-man show on a team that few paid attention to because of James’ absence.

Irving was doing all he could to make the Cavaliers relevant again in the post-LeBron era, but he couldn’t do it all by himself, which led to the team getting the No. 1 pick the same year James returned to Cleveland.

Fortunately for Irving, the up-and-coming guard proved to be the perfect Robin to LeBron’s Batman in Cleveland, as the two went on to dominate the competition and ultimately win it all during a magical run to the 2016 NBA Finals.

Although James gets a lot of credit for the Cavaliers winning it all that season, Irving was by no means a no-show in the Finals, as he put on a show averaging over 27 points per game while being incredibly efficient shooting the basketball, but he doesn’t want to live in the past, as he wants to do it again for the Dallas Mavericks.

Irving responded to the following tweet by Headpeace by saying he wants to get back to the Finals and win a second ring.

Unlike with the Cavaliers, Irving will have a tall task ahead of him to win it all while playing alongside fellow superstar Luka Doncic in Dallas.

Although Doncic is arguably one of the best players in the league right now, the Mavericks don’t have a lot of talent around him and Irving in order to be a serious threat in the Western Conference.

However, anything can happen with two motivated superstars that are both on the same page, which means there could be some fireworks in Dallas next season.
