Troy Aikman has assumed several roles throughout his time in football.

After being selected as the first overall pick in the 1989 NFL Draft, Aikman went on to play 12 seasons with the Dallas Cowboys.

When his playing days were over, Aikman moved over to the broadcasting booth, where he has been immensely successful thus far.

Despite this success, many have suggested that Aikman should try his hand at being a GM.

In a recent radio discussion that was highlighted by The Dallas Morning News, Aikman downplayed this possibility.

When referencing being considered for a GM position, Aikman said, “I think that has passed.”

However, Aikman didn’t rule out a role with a team in the future.

Even though he is slated to remain in the broadcast booth for now, that could change, one day, as his recent comments dictate.

“I feel like I can give back to our youth and maybe help out in some way,” Aikman said.

He later clarified these comments, saying, “When I say youth, that may very well entail professional athletes, as well.”

When a person is in the limelight as much as Aikman tends to be, they are often asked a lot of questions about what their next steps are.

At the moment, it appears that Aikman is content where he is at, despite a public desire for him to join a club.
