Analyst Says New Giants TE Can ‘Change A Game’

The New York Giants are coming off a season in which the storied NFL franchise defied the odds and reached the playoffs with head coach Brian Daboll changing the culture of the team.

Even though the Giants were competing in one of the toughest divisions in the league, Daboll was able to motivate his players to give it their all every game and, as a result, were able to pull off a major upset against the Minnesota Vikings in the playoffs.

With Daboll helping turn things around for the franchise, the Giants will be a team to watch in 2023, especially after the acquisition of Darren Waller this offseason.

New York swooped in ahead of the 2023 NFL Draft and made a deal with the Las Vegas Raiders to acquire arguably one of the best tight ends in the game, which Michael Robinson believes is a game changer for the Giants via NFL Total Access.

Although Waller has battled injuries over the past couple of years, Waller will play a significant role for the Giants in 2023 and could quickly become one of Daniel Jones’ favorite targets in the passing game.

Waller has played only 20 games over the past two seasons after being named a Pro Bowler for the first time in his career in 2020 with the Raiders.

During his Pro Bowl season, Waller racked up 1,196 yards and 11 receiving touchdowns, which were both career-high numbers for the star tight end.

Last season, Waller caught 28 passes for 388 yards and three touchdowns in nine games.
