The start of the 2023 NFL season is right around the corner, with training camps for all 32 teams set to get underway in July.

With rosters pretty much set for the majority of the teams around the league, especially at key positions outside of some training camp battles, pundits and analysts have turned their attention to what players might be in for a breakout season in 2023.

As usual, the bulk of the attention gets directed at the quarterback position, with NFL Network’s Adam Rank predicting that second-year quarterback Kenny Pickett of the Pittsburgh Steelers will have a breakout year, via NFL Network.

Ironically, Steelers legend Ben Roethlisberger recently admitted that he didn’t want Pickett to succeed during his rookie season because he didn’t want his replacement to make it look like he had an easy job in Pittsburgh.

Although it would be hard to call Pickett’s first season with the Steelers being a success, it would be safe to say that he played well enough to provide some hope for the future in the post-Roethlisberger era.

Pickett has some big shoes to fill in Pittsburgh but has the backing of longtime head coach Mike Tomlin and got a boost to the receiving corps this offseason with the team acquiring veteran wide receiver Allen Robinson from the Los Angeles Rams.

Clearly, the franchise is confident in Pickett’s capability to be the new face of the team and seems to have high hopes for his immediate future as the starter moving forward.
