The Boston Celtics have struggled with inconsistency all season.

Those woes have followed them all the way throughout the playoffs, and it seems like they’re their biggest enemy at this point in the season.

Following their loss to the Miami Heat, even Celtics star Marcus Smart admitted that the players are to blame for their woes, citing that they cannot get bored of doing all the little things.

Smart claims that players sometimes get on top of each other, and he knows those little things are what actually help a team win.

This isn’t the first time that Smart hints at some coaching issues for this team.

Just last month, he talked about their offense having a lot of “randomness,” and while he has always backed up Joe Mazzulla, those things speak volumes of his lack of experience in charge of a team of this caliber.

Pundits and fans have put Mazzulla on blast for holding onto his timeouts and letting his team play themselves out of tough spots.

The Celtics have everything in their favor and one could argue this ring could be theirs to lose, yet they cannot seem to string two good games together.

That could get the job done against another inconsistent team like the Atlanta Hawks or a team that often falls short like the Philadelphia 76ers.

But they might now be playing with fire.

The Heat are on a tear right now, and not doing the little things could send them back home empty-handed again.
