Teuvo Teravainen is expected to return for the Carolina Hurricanes in Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Playoffs Eastern Conference Final against the Florida Panthers on Thursday, coach Rod Brind’Amour said.
The 28-year-old winger has not played since suffering a broken hand in Game 2 of the Hurricanes’ first-round series against the New York Islanders, when he was slashed by Jean-Gabriel Pageau. The following day, Teravainen underwent surgery.

The Helsinski native had 12 goals and 25 assists for 37 points in 68 regular-season games this season. Although he did not record any points in his two playoff appearances before the injury, Teravainen has earned 43 points over 75 career post-season games.
