The New Orleans Saints are hoping to make the playoffs in 2023.

They have not made the postseason since 2020 when Drew Brees was still playing quarterback.

That is why they were aggressive to bring in former Las Vegas Raiders quarterback Derek Carr.

But for Carr to be successful the Saints wide receivers need to remain healthy.

That has been the biggest issue for former All-Pro Michael Thomas.

Thomas has played a total of 10 games over the past three seasons.

But he was once an elite receiver back in 2019.

Saints GM Mickey Loomis thinks Thomas can once again return to his top form.

According to ESPN reporter Katherine Terrell, Loomis thinks Thomas can still be a 100-catch wide receiver.

Over the last three seasons, Thomas has a total of 56 receptions.

That is a long way from his historic 2019 season where he had 149 receptions and 1,725 yards.

Having Carr under center should help give Thomas his best season in a few years.

But it will be on Thomas to remain on the field.

It will not matter who is playing quarterback and he can not stay healthy.

Only playing three games in the last two seasons is not ideal.

Yet, a healthy Thomas is one of the best wide receivers in the NFL.

Thomas and Carr have the potential to be one of the best QB/WR duos in the NFL.
