Jets Coach Had Funny Reaction To Reporter’s Aaron Rodgers Question

The New York Jets have had quite a week, and the highlight of that week was pulling off the trade that landed future Hall-of-Fame quarterback Aaron Rodgers after weeks of negotiations with the Green Bay Packers.

New York now has its first big-name QB since Brett Favre, who was ironically another former Packers great, and Rodgers could very well be the team’s best at the position since Joe Namath.

A reporter asked head coach Robert Saleh what it was like to go through the week the Jets had, and he responded by hugging Joe Douglas, the Jets’ general manager.

Last season, the Jets started 5-2, leading many to think they had a shot at making the playoffs, but a six-game losing streak to end the season extinguished those hopes.

But now they have Rodgers, not to mention a well-rounded cast around him.

Perhaps the real highlight of their team is their defense, which ranked fourth in points allowed and total yards given up last season.

Headlining that defense is cornerback Sauce Gardner, who earned Pro Bowl, All-Pro first-team and Defensive Rookie of the Year honors, plus star defensive tackle Quinnen Williams.

On offense, New York has the reigning Offensive Rookie of the Year in wide receiver Garrett Wilson, plus a very good WR2 in Allen Lazard, who was teammates with Rodgers in Green Bay.

All of a sudden, the Jets have Super Bowl aspirations, but manifesting those aspirations will be difficult given the immense depth of talent throughout the AFC, although they should have a great shot of returning to the playoffs for the first time since 2010.
