The Rams Are Keeping Up A Fun Draft Tradition

A year after winning the Super Bowl, the Los Angeles Rams had one of the worst title defenses in recent memory during the 2022 season, as key injuries and poor play resulted in a 5-12 finish.

The team has lost a few important players, including linebacker Bobby Wagner and star cornerback Jalen Ramsey, and thus they’re headed toward an uncertain 2023 season in an NFC West division that is starting to look more competitive.

With the 2023 NFL Draft coming up, the Rams are continuing what has become an annual tradition for them — conducting their draft business from a luxury facility they call a “Draft House.”

The Rams will not have a first-round pick this year, as they sent it to the Detroit Lions in the big trade last offseason that landed quarterback Matthew Stafford.

But Los Angeles will have a total of 11 picks this year, and their first pick this year will be at No. 36, which could possibly net a solid contributor.

They need help on their offensive line, and with the departures of Wagner and Ramsey, they could also use some new blood on the defensive side of the football.

On the other hand, the Rams should still be competitive on offense, despite ranking 27th in points scored and last in total yards, as long as they’re healthy.

Star wide receiver Cooper Kupp should be recovered from the high ankle sprain that limited him to nine games last season, and they still have wideout Van Jefferson and running back Cam Akers, while Stafford is looking to bounce back from a spinal cord contusion.
