The Cowboys Cut 3 Players On Monday

The Dallas Cowboys are starting to look like a major power player in the NFC and possibly a dark horse Super Bowl contender.

They let running back Ezekiel Elliott leave in free agency, but it has allowed them to earmark space for tailback Tony Pollard and star wide receiver CeeDee Lamb moving forward.

Dallas also brought in wide receiver Brandin Cooks to complement Lamb, as well as cornerback Stephon Gilmore to team up with Pro Bowl corner Trevon Diggs.

On Monday, they made three minor moves by cutting tight end Ian Bunting, corner Isaac Taylor-Stuart and linebacker Devante Bond.

Bunting, who went undrafted in 2018 out of the University of California, Berkeley (he had previously played three seasons for the University of Michigan Wolverines), appeared in one game for Dallas in 2021 and put up no stats.

He had previously been signed by five teams but never got onto the field for any of them in a regular season game.

Taylor-Stuart, who had played his college ball at the University of Southern California, was undrafted in 2021 and has yet to appear in an NFL game.

Bond was a sixth-round selection in 2016 out of the University of Oklahoma, and he previously played for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Chicago Bears.

The Cowboys signed him to be on their practice squad late in the 2021 season, but a knee injury he suffered during OTAs last summer prevented him from suiting up for them in 2022.

With the Philadelphia Eagles, the reigning NFC champions, losing defensive tackle Javon Hargrave and running back Miles Sanders, the window seems to be open for the Cowboys to do something of note in 2023.
