The Los Angeles Angels and Oakland Athletics took part in a fierce battle on Monday night at Angel Stadium in Anaheim.

The Halos rallied from a 7-1 deficit to take the lead late in the game, only for the Athletics to fight back and ultimately come away victorious by a final score of 11-10.

However, Angels outfielder Taylor Ward made an impressive catch to keep the game tied in the top of the ninth.

A’s catcher Shea Langeliers came up with the bases loaded and hit a deep fly ball to left field.

However, Ward fought through a few fans sticking their arms out and trying to catch the ball to pull it down himself and rob Langeliers of what would have been a go-ahead grand slam.

It wasn’t enough to help the Angels win, but it was an important moment in the game.

The ball would have been gone if Ward had not made the catch.

But the young outfielder also fought through a little bit of contact on this play.

A few Angels fans were attempting to catch the would-be home run ball.

However, Ward dealt with the distraction and ultimately reached over the wall to pull it down and keep the game tied at eight runs apiece.

After Ward made the improbable catch, Angels reliever Jaime Barria threw his hands up in celebration, thanking his teammate for saving him from giving up a grand slam.

It may not have been enough for the Halos to come away victorious, but it was a key moment in the game and a spectacular catch by Ward.
