Celtics, Hawks Have Brief Delay For Odd Reason

After the Atlanta Hawks shocked the reigning Eastern Conference champion Boston Celtics in Game 3, these two teams in the East resumed their first-round NBA playoff series on Sunday at State Farm Arena in Atlanta.

Although the Hawks have made a few runs in this game and may not be out of it just yet, down 12 at the half, the story of this game had nothing to do with basketball.

As the first quarter came to a close between the Celtics and Hawks, something weird started to happen, which no one saw coming, especially with the game being played in the underdog’s arena.

Confetti started to rain down from the rafters, which one would assume is from something the Hawks would use after winning a game and not after the first quarter ends via NBA on TNT.

Fortunately, after a short delay, play resumed, and both teams got back to work, with the Celtics aiming at taking a 3-1 series lead and the Hawks hoping to even the series at two games apiece.

Currently, NBA MVP frontrunner Joel Embiid and his Philadelphia 76ers are waiting for this first-round playoff series to end after making easy work of the Brooklyn Nets in four games.

All signs point to Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown putting it together and wiping the floor with Trae Young and the Hawks in this game and this series.

It was surprising, to say the least, that the Hawks were able to get one win in this series, but it’s doubtful they’ll get another against a team some view as the favorite to win it all.
