The 2023 NFL Draft is less than three weeks away, and much of the attention has been focused on an impressive crop of quarterbacks that is headlined by Bryce Young and C.J. Stroud.

But there are also at least a few interesting tight end prospects that will be available when the draft commences.

NFL Draft analyst Matt Miller gave a list of how, in his opinion, the top 10 tight ends rank in the upcoming draft.

Understandably, some fans didn’t fully agree with his ranking.

Some feel Michael Mayer of the University of Notre Dame is the best tight end prospect, as he recorded 809 yards and nine touchdowns in 2022 and 840 yards and seven touchdowns the year prior.

He was a consensus All-American this past season, and many scouts think highly of his blocking abilities, especially when his teammates decide to run the football.

Another top prospect is Dalton Kincaid, who spent his last three years with the University of Utah.

He had 890 yards and eight touchdowns this past season for the Utes, and some have been impressed with his ability to make tough catches while on the run in a fluid motion.

However, Kincaid is seen as a mediocre blocker, and this fan feels he won’t amount to much at the next level.

Tight ends have seemingly become more and more important over the years, as they went from being primarily blockers to occasional catch threats to a significant part of most teams’ offenses.

As is sometimes the case, perhaps it will be a prospect further down people’s lists who will turn out to be the best of the lot.
