NFL Analysts Select Their Ideal Fit For The Colts At No. 4 Overall

With the fourth overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, the Indianapolis Colts, in all likelihood, will not get to take either Bryce Young of the University of Alabama or Ohio State’s C.J. Stroud and possibly land their franchise quarterback for the next 10-15 years.

It poses the question of who they should take at No. 4.

Mina Kimes and Jordan Reid, both of whom are NFL analysts for ESPN, feel Anthony Richardson is clearly the right choice for the Colts.

Kimes also pointed out that if Indianapolis really wants Richardson, they may have to move up to the No. 3 pick.

But outside of Young and Stroud, he does seem to be the best QB prospect this year.

Richardson, who has been with the University of Florida, has been a late bloomer, as he played in just 10 games as a freshman and sophomore combined and started both seasons on the bench.

But this past season, he put up 2,549 passing yards and 17 touchdowns.

A concern with the Miami native is his passing accuracy — he completed just 53.8 percent of his pass attempts in 2022.

However, Kimes pointed out that the possibility is there for him to improve his accuracy over his first few years in the NFL, much like the Philadelphia Eagles’ Jalen Hurts has.

The one talent Richardson has that Young and Stroud do not really possess is his ability to move the chains with his legs.

He ran for 654 yards and nine touchdowns in 2022, and Reid even said he could be on the same level as Justin Fields of the Chicago Bears as “one of the top-five runners in the NFL immediately.”
